It started with a TED Talk
Hi! I'm so excited that you've come to visit the Parish House website. I've been planning this climate resilient, affordable housing project since my 2016 TED Residency. The goal is to build a straw bale home that's affordable to persons earning minimum wage. Once the build is complete, we will establish a base line for the surrounding land and create a permaculture food forest to help the home remain carbon-negative. Though we plan to use First-Peoples technology, this is very experimental. We've raised about 62% of the projected budget, which has paid for two parcels of land, 501(c)(3) registration, and blue prints created by architects, engineers and land surveyors. I hope you can support us on this exciting journey!
